dutasteride - aka gi198745 is a oral drug made by glaxo welcome. dutasteride works in a similar way to propecia by inhibiting the 5 alpha reductase enzyme that converts testostereone to dht. unlike propecia however, dutasteride inhibits both type 1 and type 2 of the enzyme, it also inhibits more type 2 than propecia does. what this means is that this will be a lot more effective than propecia since almost complete dht inhibition is achieved. |
